Deputies responded to a home on Mt. Zion Church Road, where they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. According to the Sheriff’s Office, Davidson County Emergency Medical Services stabilized the victim before he was transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center for advanced treatment.
Investigators determined the incident also involved the assault and kidnapping of a female victim, who was allegedly forced by the suspects to help them flee. Detectives quickly identified the suspects as Larry Brandon Jones, 47, and Paula Kay Boyd, 41. With assistance from the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, both were taken into custody in Randolph County without incident.
Authorities said Jones is charged with attempted murder, assault with a deadly weapon intending to cause serious injury, second-degree kidnapping and larceny of a motor vehicle. He was booked into the Davidson County Jail with no bond and is scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court on Sept. 24.
