Lexington, NC – Two Davidson County residents were allegedly arrested this week after a series of thefts involving building materials from newly constructed homes, according to local authorities.
According to a press release from the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, detectives with the Criminal Investigations Division began looking into reports of stolen property from construction sites across the county during the month of July. The investigation reportedly led to the arrest of Guillermo Trujillo Garcia on Wednesday, July 16, and Kayla Danielle Hernandez on Thursday, July 17. Officials allege both individuals, with the assistance of their juvenile children, were involved in the thefts.
Authorities stated that Garcia has been charged with felony larceny, felony possession of stolen property from a construction site, and two counts of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Hernandez faces the same charges. Both individuals are currently being held at the Davidson County Detention Center with no bond due to pretrial release conditions, according to the sheriff’s office.
Both suspects are scheduled to appear in Davidson County District Court on Monday, August 11, 2025.
