Huntsville, AL – Thunderstorms are expected to return to northern Alabama late Monday into early Tuesday, bringing a risk for strong to severe storms before much colder air arrives midweek.
According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, the main threats from Monday night’s storms include damaging winds and heavy rainfall. The Tennessee Valley is currently under a Marginal Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe weather. Rain chances will be highest Monday night into Tuesday morning, reaching up to 90% in some areas.
Dry and cooler weather will follow by Wednesday, with temperatures dropping sharply behind the front. Overnight lows are forecast to fall below freezing Wednesday and Thursday nights, signaling the coldest air of the season so far.
Residents are urged to stay alert to changing conditions and ensure they have multiple ways to receive weather warnings overnight.
