Huntsville, AL – Dry skies will wrap up the weekend across North Alabama, but the calm pattern won’t last long. According to the US National Weather Service in Huntsville, rain chances will increase late Sunday night and continue through much of the week, with the highest probability of showers arriving Monday night into Tuesday.

Forecasters say Monday and Tuesday night carry a 30–60% chance of showers, with additional 20–40% storm potential extending into Wednesday afternoon. Temperatures will remain mild, ranging from the upper 70s to mid-80s during the day and mid-60s overnight.

Rain chances taper slightly by Thursday, but forecasters caution residents to stay alert as isolated thunderstorms may still occur through midweek. The agency reminds residents to go indoors when thunder roars and avoid outdoor activities during lightning.

The pattern marks a shift from the recent stretch of dry, pleasant weather across the Tennessee Valley, with humidity and rainfall expected to rise. Drivers should watch for slick roads and brief downpours, especially during the morning and evening commute periods.

This system could also bring localized gusty winds or lightning strikes early in the week, though no severe weather is currently forecast.
