HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – A warm and sunny stretch continues across North Alabama through Saturday before a sharp pattern change brings rain and a cooler push by Sunday. The pleasant start to the weekend will make for ideal fall outings, but residents should plan for a soggy finish and slower travel along I-565 and U.S. 72.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, highs will climb into the mid-80s Friday and Saturday under bright skies and calm winds. Outdoor events such as fall festivals and football tailgates will enjoy nearly perfect weather. However, by late Saturday night, clouds will increase as a cold front from the west draws closer.

Rain chances rise sharply early Sunday, with widespread showers and a few embedded thunderstorms possible through midday. While severe storms are not expected, heavier bursts of rain could briefly reduce visibility and create slick spots on roadways across Madison, Limestone, and Morgan counties. Residents should secure outdoor decorations and check local alerts before traveling.

By Sunday evening, drier and cooler air will sweep in behind the front. Temperatures will fall back into the upper 40s Sunday night—marking one of the chilliest readings so far this fall. Sunshine returns Monday, but highs will only reach the upper 70s, bringing that first true hint of autumn across North Alabama.
