Normal, IL – A 55-year-old Normal man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery that occurred last week at a Dollar General store on West Raab Road.

According to the Normal Police Department, officers responded to the store on September 2 after reports of an armed suspect. Police said an officer confronted the man, who allegedly fled the area on foot. Investigators later identified the suspect as Calvin L. Jones, age 55, of Normal.

Working with the McLean County State’s Attorney’s Office, authorities said probable cause was established and a warrant was issued. Jones was taken into custody without incident on Saturday, September 6, on a McLean County warrant.

Jones is facing multiple charges, including robbery, aggravated robbery, and burglary, police said. He is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.

The department noted that the arrest came after a thorough investigation involving evidence review, interviews, and coordination with local partners.

Police continue to investigate other armed subject incidents in the same area. In one case, officers pursued a different suspect in the 600 block of West Raab Road around 2:30 p.m. that same day. Authorities said that man fled on foot after being confronted by an officer, leaving behind a weapon believed to have been in his possession. That suspect remains at large.

Normal PD described the wanted individual as a man in his mid-30s, approximately 5-foot-10 to 6 feet tall, last seen wearing black clothing and white shoes. Residents are urged to call 911 immediately if they spot anyone matching that description.
