Norwood, MA – A 16-year-old male from Brockton has been arrested following a three-month investigation into a September shooting in Norwood, according to police.

Detectives with the Norwood Police Department, assisted by Brockton Police and the Plymouth County Sheriff’s Office, executed an arrest warrant early Thursday morning at a Brockton residence. The teen, whose name is withheld under Massachusetts law, was taken into custody without incident and booked at the Norwood Police Department.

According to authorities, the juvenile has been charged with armed assault with intent to rob, conspiracy to commit robbery, and attempted armed robbery. The charges stem from a September 24 incident in which officers responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunfire near Columbine Road and Woodbine Road in a residential area.

Through interviews and forensic evidence, investigators concluded the shooting was not random. Police believe the victim was lured to the location under the pretense of a marijuana transaction and was targeted for an armed robbery.

“This arrest is the result of tireless work by our detectives and our partners in Brockton and Plymouth County,” said Chief Christopher Padden. “While this marks significant progress, our work is not finished.”

The investigation remains ongoing, with additional charges possible as detectives pursue leads related to the alleged conspiracy. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Sinclair at 781-440-5193.
