Eureka, CA – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Northern Trinity, California, from 11 a.m. Wednesday to 11 a.m. Thursday, with snowfall and strong winds expected to impact travel above 4,000 feet.

According to the National Weather Service in Eureka, areas including Highway 3 near Scott Mountain could receive between 3 and 5 inches of snow. Wind gusts may reach up to 50 mph, increasing the risk of downed tree branches and difficult driving conditions.

Travelers are urged to use caution, as reduced visibility and slippery roads could create hazardous conditions. Those planning to drive in higher elevations should carry chains and allow extra travel time.

Authorities recommend checking road conditions by dialing 511 before heading out. Residents in affected areas should also secure outdoor items and prepare for potential power disruptions.

The advisory remains in effect until 11 a.m. Thursday. Drivers are encouraged to slow down and remain vigilant while traveling through impacted regions.
