Columbus, Ohio – After several stormy days, Ohioans can finally expect a stretch of dry, sunny weather through Friday, with temperatures climbing into the upper 80s across much of the state.

According to the National Weather Service in Wilmington, Wednesday will mark the first day in over a week without thunderstorms. Highs will range from 85°F in Dayton and Sidney to 89°F in Cincinnati and Wilmington. Humidity levels will also drop, bringing some relief from the muggy conditions of late June.

Cities like Columbus (88°F), Portsmouth (87°F), and Chillicothe (86°F) will see hot but dry conditions, making this a good window for outdoor plans or storm cleanup. However, residents should stay hydrated and limit strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours.

As the week continues, high temperatures are expected to remain in the upper 80s before creeping into the low 90s by Saturday and Sunday — especially in southern parts of the state. This pattern marks the first significant dry spell since mid-June.

More heat advisories may be issued this weekend as humidity rises again.
