No Injuries Reported in Early Morning Apartment Fire in Romeoville

Romeoville, IL – Firefighters responded to an apartment fire early Tuesday morning on the 1300 block of Mews Lane.

According to the Lockport Township Fire Protection District, crews arrived at approximately 12:13 a.m. to find a working fire on a second-floor balcony. Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames, preventing them from spreading further. The building’s sprinkler system activated and helped control the fire before crews fully extinguished it.

The fire caused minor damage to the building’s exterior and the affected unit’s interior. The residents were home at the time but escaped unharmed. No injuries were reported.

Several neighboring fire departments were dispatched to assist but were canceled before arrival. The quick response by crews ensured the fire remained contained.

Officials believe the fire was accidental. Lockport fire investigators are working to confirm the cause.

The Lockport Township Fire Protection District praised the teamwork and response of its crews in handling the incident.
