Lockport, NY – Residents across several Lockport neighborhoods reported property damage this week after a string of overnight egging incidents led to multiple arrests, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, deputies first responded at approximately 10:46 p.m. Wednesday, January 8, to reports of damaged property in the 6600 block of Royal Parkway South. Shortly afterward, deputies were also dispatched to the 100 block of Whispering Pines Drive for similar complaints.

Investigators determined that over two consecutive nights, numerous vehicles and homes throughout the Town of Lockport were allegedly targeted with eggs. Deputies reported finding egg cartons and other debris discarded along neighborhood streets. Authorities say more than 20 homeowners reported damage to their residences and/or vehicles.

Neighborhoods impacted included Royal Parkway South, Village Parkway, Harvest Ridge Way, Jim Kelly Drive, Whispering Pines Drive, and Forest Hill Drive, all within Niagara County and near the greater Lockport area.

Following an investigation, deputies arrested John K. Taylor, 18; Benjamin B. McKenzie, 19; Peter J. Blake, 18; and Cain D. Smeal, 18, all from the Town of Newfane, according to officials.

The individuals are charged with Criminal Mischief in the Fourth Degree, a misdemeanor, along with multiple counts of Criminal Tampering in the Third Degree, also misdemeanors. Authorities emphasized the suspects are alleged to have committed the offenses. All four were released on appearance tickets and are scheduled to return to court at a later date.

The Sheriff’s Office says the investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges may be pending as deputies continue to follow up with affected residents.
