Niagara County, NY – Deputies in Niagara County are investigating a stabbing reported Wednesday afternoon after a man was found with multiple injuries on Main Street in Olcott, authorities said.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, patrol units were dispatched around 12:26 p.m. Wednesday to the area of 5957 Main Street in the Town of Newfane for reports of an assault involving a knife. When deputies arrived, they allegedly located an adult male suffering from multiple lacerations.

Deputies said the victim was treated at the scene and then transported to Erie County Medical Center for further care. His current condition was not released Wednesday.

According to the Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigation Bureau, the stabbing remains under active investigation. Crime scene investigators, NYS Police, and members of the Department of Environmental Conservation also assisted at the scene, along with firefighters from Olcott Volunteer Fire Company and Miller Hose Volunteer Fire Company.
