
Wheatfield, NY – A fatal crash shut down part of Niagara Falls Boulevard early Friday morning after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities said the incident happened around 6:44 a.m. on October 2, 2025, near 2335 Niagara Falls Boulevard in the Town of Wheatfield. Deputies and emergency crews from Bergholz Fire Department, Niagara County Fire Police, and Tri-Community Ambulance responded after multiple 911 calls were made.
According to investigators, a 2021 Jeep SUV was traveling northbound on Niagara Falls Boulevard when it struck a pedestrian. The victim suffered severe trauma and was pronounced dead at the scene. The name of the pedestrian is being withheld until family notification is complete.
The driver of the Jeep is cooperating fully with law enforcement. Deputies confirmed the investigation is being handled by the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office Accident Investigation Unit and the Criminal Investigation Bureau.
Traffic delays were reported in the area during the morning commute as police worked to reconstruct the crash scene. No additional details about the circumstances of the collision have been released.
