Niagara County, NY – Man Arrested on Multiple Felony Drug Charges

Lockport, NY – A Niagara Falls man is facing several felony drug charges following an investigation by the Niagara County Drug Task Force, Sheriff Michael Filicetti announced Thursday.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, Robert Smith, 46, of Niagara Falls, was arrested on September 4, 2025, in the Town of Lockport. The arrest followed an investigation led by deputies and the county drug task force.

Authorities said Smith allegedly faces the following felony charges: four counts of third-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, two counts of fourth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, two counts of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, and one count of fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance.

Smith was taken into custody and booked into the Niagara County Jail, where he remains pending arraignment. No additional details about the investigation or the type of substances seized have been released at this time.

The arrest comes as part of ongoing efforts by Niagara County law enforcement to combat narcotics distribution in the region. The sheriff’s office stated that further information will be made public if available.
