Porter, New York – A motorcyclist was killed Monday afternoon following a crash involving a pickup truck in Niagara County, authorities said.

According to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office, the collision happened around 1:30 p.m. Monday at the intersection of Youngstown-Wilson Road and Dickersonville Road in the Town of Porter, located in Niagara County near the Buffalo metro area.

Deputies said initial reports indicated a serious injury crash involving a motorcycle and a pickup truck. When first responders arrived, the motorcyclist was found unconscious and not breathing. Emergency crews began life-saving measures, but the individual was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, according to authorities.

Investigators said preliminary findings suggest the motorcycle was traveling westbound on Youngstown-Wilson Road and allegedly attempting to pass both a pickup truck and another uninvolved vehicle. At the same time, the pickup truck began making a left turn onto Dickersonville Road. The motorcycle then struck the driver’s side door of the truck.

The Niagara County Accident Investigation Unit is continuing to investigate the crash. Officials said the identities of those involved are being withheld pending notification of family members.

Authorities have not released additional details, and it remains unclear if any charges will be filed.
