Newfane, NY – Fire crews from across Niagara County responded to a structure fire Saturday afternoon in the 2600 block of Transit Road in the Town of Newfane, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said a 911 call came in around 1:02 p.m. reporting a fire inside a residence on Transit Road. All residents were able to evacuate safely before patrol units arrived on scene.
According to the sheriff’s release, personnel and equipment from several fire companies—including Miller Hose Volunteer Fire Company and Olcott Volunteer Fire Company—responded and confirmed a working fire. The blaze was eventually brought under control by responding units.
The Niagara County Fire Investigation Unit and Fire Coordinator’s Office are handling the investigation into what sparked the fire. As of Saturday evening, there was no estimate of damages and no reported injuries.
