Buffalo, NY – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Northern Erie and Genesee counties until 4 a.m. Friday, with lake-effect snow expected to create hazardous travel conditions. Additional snowfall of up to two inches is likely, particularly in areas prone to lake-effect bands.
According to the National Weather Service, slippery roads will impact drivers overnight, and those traveling on I-90 and other major routes should use caution. Winds of up to 20 mph may reduce visibility. Motorists are advised to allow extra travel time and be prepared for sudden weather changes.
Friday will see a chance of morning snow showers, with mostly cloudy skies and a high near 22°F. Saturday will bring a mix of sun and clouds, warming up to 29°F, but breezy conditions will persist. Sunday’s forecast includes a slight chance of morning snow showers, with a high of 32°F.
By Monday, temperatures will rise to 40°F, with a mix of rain and snow possible. The unsettled weather pattern continues into midweek, with scattered snow showers and highs in the upper 30s.
