Oswego, NY – A significant winter storm is set to impact Oswego County, bringing heavy lake-effect snow and strong winds from late Thursday night through Saturday afternoon.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Buffalo, a Winter Storm Watchis in effect, with 6 to 12 inches of snow expected in areas experiencing persistent lake-effect bands. Winds could gust up to 50 mph, leading to blowing and drifting snowand significantly reduced visibility.
A Winter Weather Advisory also remains in place until 10 p.m. Thursday, as mixed precipitation continues. Snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches, along with light ice accumulations, could create slick roads and hazardous travel conditions, especially during the morning and evening commutes.
