Albany, NY – A winter storm continues to impact eastern New York and southern Vermont, bringing heavy snow and hazardous travel conditions. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning in effect until noon Sunday for multiple counties in both states.
According to the National Weather Service in Albany, snowfall accumulations are expected to range between 6 and 10 inches, with an additional 2 to 4 inches possible before the storm ends. Some areas may also see a light glaze of ice, further complicating road conditions.
The warning covers the southern Adirondacks, Mohawk Valley, Saratoga-Lake George region, Capital District, upper Hudson Valley, and southern Vermont, including cities such as Albany, Schenectady, Saratoga Springs, Glens Falls, and Bennington. Snow is expected to taper off into light snow showers before ending later this morning.
Drivers should prepare for slippery roads and reduced visibility. If travel is necessary, officials recommend carrying an emergency kit with a flashlight, food, and water.
