Buffalo, NY – A mix of freezing drizzle and snow is set to impact Buffalo and surrounding counties this week, bringing hazardous road conditions and travel disruptions. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued a Winter Weather Advisory through early Monday, with additional snow and ice expected midweek.
According to the NWS, freezing drizzle will create slick roads overnight, with accumulations of up to one inch of snow and a light glaze of ice. Drivers should prepare for reduced visibility and slippery conditions through the Monday morning commute.
Looking ahead, Tuesday will bring a break in precipitation, with partly sunny skies and a high near 29°F. However, another storm system will move in Wednesday night, starting as snow before transitioning to rain early Thursday. Temperatures will rise to 41°F by Thursday, but the risk of freezing rain during the transition could lead to additional hazardous conditions.
Residents are urged to slow down on icy roads and check for updates from the NWS. Stay informed on changing conditions and potential delays.
