Binghamton, NY – Central New York is in for a wintry blast as snow showers, strong winds, and freezing temperatures hit the region through Thursday. Residents should prepare for slippery roads, low visibility, and bitter wind chills.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), isolated snow squalls are possible Wednesday afternoon and evening, bringing gusty winds up to 40 mph. Overnight, temperatures will plummet to 14°F, with wind chills making it feel even colder. Snow showers will continue into Thursday morning before skies clear.

Thursday’s high will reach 32°F with mostly sunny conditions, but any remaining snow on roads could create hazardous driving. Thursday night sees another cold drop to 20°F. By Friday, another storm system moves in, bringing an 80% chance of rain showers, which could transition into snow Friday night into Saturday morning.

Drivers along I-81 and I-88 should use caution, as slick conditions and blowing snow may cause delays. Wind chills will make temperatures feel much colder, so bundle up if heading outdoors.
