New York, NY – After a rainy and breezy St. Patrick’s Day, New York City will see a break in the wet weather as sunny skies and mild temperatures return Tuesday. The spring-like conditions won’t last long, though, as another round of showers is expected by late week.
According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will be mostly sunny with a high near 59°F. Winds will shift north at 8 to 14 mph, making for a breezy but comfortable day. Tuesday night will remain mostly clear with lows dipping to around 40°F.
By Wednesday, the region will continue to enjoy dry conditions, with temperatures reaching a high of 56°F under mostly sunny skies. However, clouds will increase overnight, leading to a 40% chance of showers on Thursday afternoon. Highs will remain in the upper 50s.
Rain chances rise to 70% Thursday night, with showers likely persisting into Friday morning. Temperatures will hover around the mid-40s to upper 50s through the end of the week.
Spring officially begins on Thursday, March 20, and while the week starts on a bright note, rain will keep things unsettled. Travelers should plan accordingly, especially for morning and evening commutes later this week.
Looking ahead to the weekend, Saturday and Sunday are expected to be mostly sunny, with highs in the mid-50s. Stay updated with the latest forecasts as conditions evolve.
