Binghamton, NY – A high-pressure system is bringing clear skies and seasonable weather to Binghamton and surrounding areas today. Highs will reach around 54°F, with calm winds gradually shifting westward, reaching 6 mph by the afternoon. Residents north of the NY Thruway, however, should anticipate isolated lake effect rain showers starting mid-morning and possibly persisting through the afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), these lake effect showers will mainly impact areas along and north of the NY Thruway, with temperatures staying comfortable in the low to mid-50s. Mostly sunny conditions are expected throughout the Twin Tiers and Catskills, while partly sunny skies will stretch across the Southern Tier.

Friday: Cooler and mostly cloudy, with highs around 55°F and a 30% chance of lingering showers.
