New York Weather Update: Spring Showers and Snow Mix Expected Wednesday Night

Albany, NY – Spring officially begins Thursday, but winter isn’t letting go just yet. A mix of rain and snow is expected Wednesday night across the Capital Region, bringing slick roads and colder temperatures.

According to the National Weather Service, Wednesday will see mostly sunny skies and highs near 66°F before clouds increase in the evening. A cold front moves in late Wednesday night, bringing rain that could mix with snow after midnight. Lows will drop to around 32°F, with winds picking up to 8 mph from the south. The chance of precipitation is 90%, with minor snow accumulation possible.

By Friday, another system could bring additional rain and snow showers before tapering off in the afternoon. Highs will be cooler, around 42°F, before clearing skies Friday night with lows near 31°F.

Looking ahead, temperatures will rebound slightly by the weekend. Saturday will be mostly sunny with a high of 54°F, followed by Sunday’s cooler high of 48°F. Another chance of showers is expected Monday.
