Binghamton, NY – A persistent winter weather pattern is set to bring snow showers to Binghamton every day starting Monday. Residents should prepare for slippery roads, reduced visibility, and consistently cold temperatures throughout the week.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), snow showers will begin Monday night with a 30% chance of accumulation and continue Tuesday with a high near 29°F. The chance of snow increases midweek, with Wednesday bringing the highest likelihood of accumulation as temperatures climb to 33°F. Road conditions on major highways, including I-81 and Route 17, are likely to worsen as snowfall intensifies through midweek.

Daily highs will range between the upper 20s and low 30s, with nighttime lows dipping into the teens, adding to the potential for icy roads and hazardous travel. Snowfall amounts may vary, but residents can expect light to moderate accumulations daily, with lake-effect snow possible in nearby areas.

By Thursday, another system could move through, keeping snow showers in the forecast, with colder temperatures returning to the region. Friday may offer a brief respite with partly sunny skies, but frigid lows near 19°F will persist.

Drivers should stay updated with real-time weather alerts and road conditions. Ensure vehicles are equipped with snow tires or chains, and avoid unnecessary travel during heavier snow periods.
