New York, NY – Spring warmth will settle across New York this weekend, but an approaching system could dampen Monday night travel with a 50% chance of showers.

According to the National Weather Service, Saturday will bring mostly sunny skies and a high near 78°F, offering ideal spring conditions. However, light rain chances re-emerge by Saturday night with a 20% chance of showers and increase significantly to a 50% chance by Monday night. Those traveling along I-95 or commuting in and around New York City Monday evening should prepare for slick roads and slower traffic.

Winds over the weekend will remain steady. On Saturday, southwest gusts will reach 17 mph, while Sunday remains calmer. Monday night’s rainfall could linger into early Tuesday, so plan accordingly for delays or damp morning commutes.
