Buffalo, N.Y. – Morning rain is dampening parts of western and central New York Saturday, especially along and south of the New York State Thruway, with gradual clearing expected by this afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, light showers are most likely through midday in cities such as Jamestown, Olean, and Wellsville, where chances of rain range from 67% to 86%. Areas north of the Thruway—including Buffalo, Rochester, and Watertown—should see increasing sunshine as the day progresses.

Temperatures will remain mild, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s across the region. The warmest spots—like Fulton and Watertown—may reach the mid-70s. Humidity levels are expected to stay comfortable, especially by late afternoon.

Drivers should be alert for wet road conditions this morning along I-86 and I-390, but roadways should dry quickly as the day goes on. Residents in the Southern Tier may see lingering clouds into the evening, while those closer to Lake Ontario enjoy clearer skies.

No additional weather alerts are in effect, but conditions will continue to improve throughout the day.
