Buffalo, NY – Western New York is set to experience a significant drop in temperatures this week, with highs expected to be 10 to 15 degrees below seasonal norms through Tuesday. The National Weather Service in Buffalo predicts this cooler air mass will dominate the region, bringing daytime highs into the mid-60s and overnight lows dipping into the low 50s.

The cooler conditions will be accompanied by increased rain chances, particularly by midweek. According to the forecast, Monday and Tuesday will see a mix of clouds and sunshine, with temperatures struggling to reach the mid-60s. Rain is expected to begin on Wednesday, with a 60% chance of showers throughout the day, further lowering temperatures.

A gradual warming trend is anticipated to begin by Thursday, with highs creeping back into the low 70s. By the weekend, temperatures are expected to return to more typical August levels, with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees.

Residents are advised to keep an umbrella handy for midweek and to prepare for cooler mornings, especially on Tuesday and Wednesday. The cooler start to the week provides a brief respite from the summer heat, but more seasonable weather is on the horizon by the weekend.
