According to the National Weather Service in New York, there’s a 30% chance of isolated to scattered severe thunderstorms Thursday afternoon into the evening, especially after 2 p.m. These storms could produce damaging wind gusts, impacting areas from Manhattan to the Bronx and portions of I-278, the FDR Drive, and coastal routes near Brooklyn and Queens. While spotter activation is not currently expected, residents are urged to monitor conditions and avoid outdoor activities during storm hours.

Temperatures will climb to a hot 86°F Thursday afternoon before storms roll in. By Thursday night, skies should clear with a low around 70°F and winds shifting west between 8 to 10 mph.
