Albany, NY – The National Weather Service in Albany, NY, has issued a weather advisory for Saturday, August 3, 2024, forecasting a day of mostly cloudy skies accompanied by oppressive humidity. While the morning hours will remain mostly dry, showers and thunderstorms are expected to redevelop in the afternoon and continue into the evening.

The most significant weather concerns include heavy downpours that could lead to isolated instances of flash flooding, especially in areas near and south of the I-90 corridor. The Weather Prediction Center has highlighted a marginal risk of excessive rainfall across much of eastern New York and western New England, with a slight risk extending into parts of the Catskills and Berkshires.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant, particularly in flood-prone areas, as rapid rainfall could overwhelm drainage systems and lead to localized flooding. Travelers should also be cautious on the roads, where reduced visibility and standing water could pose hazards.
