Binghamton, N.Y. – Drivers across Central New York could face slick roads Monday night as scattered showers become more widespread, kicking off a week of shifting weather patterns.
According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, showers are expected to increase in coverage late Monday, with lows dipping into the 30s. Drier conditions return Tuesday through Thursday, bringing plenty of sunshine and highs climbing into the 70s by Thursday afternoon — the warmest stretch so far this season for Northeast Pennsylvania.
Roadways across Broome, Tioga, and Chenango counties may remain damp Tuesday morning before skies begin to clear. Commuters should see improving conditions by midday. Wednesday and Thursday will offer ideal conditions for outdoor plans, though allergy sufferers may notice elevated pollen levels.
Rain chances return late Friday into Saturday, with a 40% chance of scattered showers and a slight chance of thunderstorms across both regions. Temperatures will remain mild, but wet roads and reduced visibility could affect weekend travel.
High pressure is expected to build again Sunday, bringing mostly sunny skies. Updates and any additional advisories will be issued midweek as the next front approaches.
