Binghamton, NY – Scattered rain and snow showers are expected to continue across central New York and northeast Pennsylvania tonight before tapering off early Monday morning, according to the National Weather Service in Binghamton.
Cool but seasonal temperatures in the upper 20s to low 30s will accompany the passing system, with little to no accumulation expected. After the mixed precipitation ends, dry and quiet weather is forecast through Monday and into early Tuesday.
Meteorologists say the next active system will arrive by Tuesday evening, bringing a new round of rain that may linger into the middle of the week. A stronger cold front is then expected to sweep in late week, setting up the potential for colder air and additional snow chances heading into the weekend.
“Tonight’s rain and snow showers will wind down by early Monday,” the NWS said Sunday afternoon. “After a brief break in the weather, conditions turn active again by midweek with colder temperatures returning late in the week.”
Residents are advised to monitor forecasts for updates as winter-like conditions gradually return across the region.
