Buffalo, NY – Western New York is set to experience a rapid shift in weather this weekend, with a wet Saturday bringing colder temperatures and gusty winds before drier conditions return on Sunday.

According to the National Weather Service Buffalo NY, temperatures will climb into the low 70s Friday across much of the region, with lows in the mid-to-upper 50s. However, a cold front moving in Friday night will bring widespread rain and cooler air. By Saturday, highs will only reach the mid-60s in Buffalo, with lows dipping into the upper 30s and wind chills in the 30s expected, particularly in the North Country.

The North Country will see even sharper contrasts, with lows ranging from the upper 20s today to the low 30s by Sunday morning. Rain is expected to taper off by early Sunday, with temperatures gradually rebounding into the low-to-mid 50s under mostly sunny skies.

Residents are encouraged to dress in layers, especially during early mornings and late evenings, and be cautious on slick roads Saturday due to rainfall. Travel and outdoor plans may be disrupted Saturday but should improve Sunday as conditions stabilize.

More mild weather is expected to return Monday with highs back in the 60s.
