Wayne County, NY -A winter weather advisory remains in effect for Wayne and Northern Cayuga counties until 7 p.m. Monday as lake effect snow continues to impact the region. Residents in these areas can expect an additional 4 to 8 inches of snowfall, with the heaviest accumulation occurring north of Route 104.
According to the National Weather Service, travel conditions will be challenging throughout the day. Hazardous road conditions and low visibility are expected to disrupt both the morning and evening commutes.
The snowfall is being driven by narrow bands of lake effect snow, which often create rapidly changing conditions. Drivers are advised to exercise caution, allowing extra time for travel and being prepared for sudden reductions in visibility.
The advisory highlights the importance of monitoring local conditions and submitting snow reports through official channels, including the National Weather Service’s website and social media.
Residents should stay updated on road conditions and consider delaying non-essential travel until the snow diminishes later tonight.
