Albany, NY – Areas across New York are experiencing a complex mix of dense fog and elevation-dependent snowfall Saturday morning, creating hazardous travel conditions from Buffalo to Albany and along the I-90 corridor.

According to the National Weather Service, a Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect through 11 a.m. for portions of western New York, including Buffalo, Rochester, and surrounding areas. Visibility may drop below a quarter mile, especially near Lake Ontario. Drivers are urged to use low beams and reduce speed.

In the eastern and southern parts of the state, including Binghamton and the Catskills region, a Winter Weather Advisory is in place until 2 p.m. Saturday. Rain is transitioning to snow in higher elevations above 2,000 feet, with accumulations between 1 and 4 inches likely. Road conditions are expected to remain slippery through the morning.

Radar imagery shows the heaviest snow bands forming along and south of I-90, especially around Albany and the Berkshires. Snowfall will taper off by Saturday afternoon, transitioning back to rain in many areas.

Residents should monitor local updates and use caution when traveling, particularly in higher terrain and fog-prone valleys. Warmer, drier conditions are expected statewide by Sunday.
