New York, NY – A cooler day is in store for the New York City area on Thursday as a cold front gradually moves in from the west, bringing cloudy skies, patchy drizzle, and southeast winds.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will start in the upper 30s to mid-40s in the morning, with highs reaching between 50 and 60 degrees. Areas northwest of NYC will experience slightly warmer conditions. Winds from the south to southeast will range from 5 to 15 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph in some locations.
Early morning commuters should be prepared for foggy conditions and light drizzle before the weather turns mostly dry later in the day. While cloud cover will persist throughout Thursday, no significant rainfall is expected.
The NYC Daily Almanac reports an average high of 51°F for March 20, with a record high of 83°F set in 1945. The average low is 37°F, with a record low of 11°F recorded in 1885. Sunrise is scheduled for 6:59 a.m., and sunset will be at 7:08 p.m. EDT.
