Buffalo, NY – A significant cold front is sweeping across Buffalo this week, bringing seasonably cool weather and potential rain showers. Residents should prepare for temperatures dropping into the low 30s Tuesday night and Wednesday, with breezy conditions persisting. These cooler conditions are forecasted to continue throughout the week, making warm layers and rain gear essential.
According to the National Weather Service in Buffalo, two cold fronts are set to cross the region, maintaining showery and breezy conditions overnight Tuesday. Colder, drier air will follow, creating below-average temperatures Tuesday night and lingering into Wednesday. Temperatures are expected to dip to a low of 29 degrees Tuesday night, with wind gusts reaching up to 22 mph. On Wednesday, high temperatures will peak near 48 degrees, accompanied by sunshine and lighter winds of around 5 to 8 mph.
By Wednesday evening, conditions will become mostly cloudy as temperatures drop back to around 35 degrees. A chance of rain mixed with snow could arrive Thursday morning as lows hover near freezing. Rain showers are likely to continue Thursday, with highs nearing 49 degrees and a 60% chance of precipitation.
Looking ahead, Friday offers a break with partly sunny skies and a slight warm-up to 50 degrees. However, another round of colder temperatures is expected Friday night, with lows dropping to 36 degrees and winds shifting northwest.
Residents are advised to drive cautiously during early morning commutes, particularly on highways and overpasses where freezing rain and snow could cause slick roads. Keep an eye on updates from the National Weather Service and prepare for rapid changes in conditions throughout the week.
