New York cities are reporting some of the highest snowfall totals in the East.

According to the National Weather Service Eastern Region, Syracuse, New York has recorded 127.3 inches of snow as of 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 12, far exceeding its normal 87.7 inches for this point in the season.

Rochester has reached 100.6 inches, surpassing the 100-inch mark for the first time since the 2017–2018 snowfall season. Buffalo has measured 80.7 inches compared to a normal 69.0 inches.

Other New York reporting sites are also running above average. Binghamton has recorded 58.8 inches, Albany 47.3 inches, and New York City’s Central Park has measured 21.2 inches, slightly above its 18.9-inch normal.

The National Weather Service noted measurable snowfall has been observed at all primary reporting locations included in the Eastern Region update — an uncommon seasonal milestone.

While some Mid-Atlantic and coastal areas remain below normal, much of upstate New York continues to track well above seasonal averages through mid-February.

For commuters, students, and municipal crews across New York, persistent snowfall has meant repeated plowing operations and periodic travel disruptions throughout the winter.

The snowfall year runs from July 1 through June 30.
