Schenectady, NY – A cooler and mainly dry day is expected across much of eastern New York, with only isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms predicted for areas northwest of the Capital District. The National Weather Service in Albany reports that Schenectady and surrounding areas will see daytime highs around 80°F, with temperatures dropping to the upper 50s overnight.
According to the latest forecast, showers are most likely to occur in areas such as Herkimer and Amsterdam, with a 45% chance of precipitation by late afternoon. Meanwhile, Gloversville and Cobleskill have a 20-30% chance of rain showers, particularly between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. Schenectady, however, will remain mostly dry, with only a 10-20% chance of light showers in the early evening.
Looking ahead to the week, temperatures will remain moderate, with highs ranging from 75°F to 85°F through Friday. The region will experience a mix of sun and clouds, with the next significant chance of rain not arriving until next Saturday.
