According to the National Weather Service in Binghamton, July 20 will bring a high near 84°F and a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 8 a.m., intensifying through the afternoon. Some storms may become strong, with localized downpours, gusty winds, and brief power outages possible. Rainfall will be uneven, but isolated totals could exceed an inch.

Motorists should expect slippery roads, reduced visibility, and pooling water, especially during afternoon travel. Those heading out should avoid flooded roads and secure outdoor items in advance. South winds will shift from 6 to 7 mph, bringing muggy air before a cooler, drier pattern settles in Monday.

By Monday, skies clear and temps dip to 76°F. Tuesday warms slightly with a sunny 80°F, while Wednesday peaks at 87°F under mostly sunny skies. A stronger summer ridge builds into Thursday and Friday, with highs reaching 91°F and renewed chances for afternoon thunderstorms both days.
