Buffalo, New York – Thunderstorms could disrupt Tuesday afternoon travel across western New York as summer storms roll into the Buffalo area after 1 p.m.
According to the National Weather Service, scattered thunderstorms will develop between 1 and 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 1, with brief downpours and gusts up to 25 mph. Temperatures will climb to a humid 76°F before storms move through. Wind shifts from the west at 10 to 14 mph may impact drivers on I-190, Route 33, and local routes near downtown Buffalo. Rainfall totals could range from a tenth to a quarter inch, with higher amounts under strong cells.
Tuesday night will clear out, dropping to a low of 64°F, setting the stage for a brighter midweek. Wednesday and Independence Day (Friday) will bring drier air and highs in the upper 70s, giving Buffalo a classic summer holiday feel.
