New York, NY – Commuters in New York could face slick roads and gusty winds by late Wednesday as a round of showers pushes through the region.

According to the National Weather Service, a 70% chance of rain is expected after 8 p.m. Wednesday, with east winds reaching up to 21 mph. Light rainfall between a tenth and a quarter inch is possible, impacting evening travel on roadways like FDR Drive, I-278, and the West Side Highway. Drivers should reduce speed and remain alert for pooling water during the evening commute.

Rain will begin to taper by early Thursday, but a 30% chance of lingering showers remains through midday. Temperatures will stay moderate, with highs in the upper 60s. The brief dip in summer-like warmth continues through Friday before temperatures rebound into the upper 70s by Sunday.
