Rensselaer, N.Y. – Hot and hazy weather will dominate much of Rensselaer County on Tuesday as temperatures climb into the 90s with heat index values pushing 96°.
According to the National Weather Service in Albany, patchy fog will develop early Tuesday morning, especially before 8 a.m., before skies turn mostly sunny. High temperatures will reach 92°, and calm winds could make the heat feel more oppressive throughout the day. Residents are urged to limit outdoor activity during peak heat hours, stay hydrated, and never leave children or pets in vehicles.
Wednesday will be even hotter, with a slight chance of afternoon showers and storms after 2 p.m. The high is forecast to reach 93° with increasing humidity. While rain chances remain low early in the week, scattered thunderstorms are expected to return Thursday and Friday, possibly disrupting outdoor plans and commutes along Route 4 and I-90.
