New York, NY – The National Weather Service says a chilly night is on tap for the New York metro area, with temperatures dropping into the 30s across outlying suburbs and the low 40s in the city. Clear skies and calm winds will set up ideal conditions for a cold start Saturday morning.
According to NWS New York, locations such as Poughkeepsie, Middletown, and Danbury could see lows near the mid-30s, while coastal areas like New York City, Long Island, and the Jersey Shore remain in the low to mid-40s.
Despite a sunny forecast for Saturday, temperatures will stay well below average for late October, with highs only reaching the mid to upper 50s across most of the region. The cool pattern is expected to continue through the weekend, with overnight lows again dipping into the 30s in some inland spots.
Residents are encouraged to bundle up for early morning errands and outdoor events as fall’s chill settles firmly into the tri-state area.
