Tri-State Area – A cold snap is set to grip New York, New Jersey, and Connecticut this weekend, with temperatures dipping well below seasonal norms.
The National Weather Service forecasts highs in the upper 30s to low 40s, with overnight lows plunging into the 20s. Newark is expected to reach 42°F on Saturday, dropping to 26°F overnight. New York City will see a high of 40°F with a low of 28°F, while Bridgeport could hit 40°F with similar nighttime temperatures.
According to meteorologists, this cold spell will feel about 10 degrees below average for early December. The chilly conditions are expected to persist into Monday, with little relief in sight. Residents are urged to dress warmly and prepare for extended periods of cold.
Experts suggest checking on vulnerable neighbors and ensuring heating systems function efficiently. As outdoor temperatures plummet, proper insulation and cold-weather safety measures are vital.
