New York, N.Y. – A stormy start Friday will quickly clear out, setting up a near-perfect Labor Day weekend across New York with warm, sunny skies and comfortable conditions lasting through Monday. Highs will range from the mid-70s to lower 80s, creating ideal weather for outdoor gatherings, cookouts, and late-summer beach trips.

According to the National Weather Service in New York, a few showers and thunderstorms will pass Friday morning and afternoon, but skies will brighten by evening. From Saturday through Monday, residents across the five boroughs, Long Island, and much of the Hudson Valley can expect dry weather with plenty of sunshine and mild humidity. Ocean water temperatures will hover near 70 degrees, keeping coastal beaches inviting for swimmers and surfers.

Travelers heading to Jones Beach, Coney Island, or Fire Island should prepare for heavier Friday traffic but enjoy clear driving conditions the rest of the holiday. The combination of warm afternoons and cooler nights in the 60s will make camping and outdoor events more comfortable than in recent weeks.

Holiday weekend events are expected to continue without weather disruption, with the next chance of unsettled weather holding off until midweek.
