Albany, NY – Drivers in the Mohawk Valley and Adirondack regions face hazardous conditions Thursday morning due to dense fog forming in the area. The National Weather Service issued an advisory, urging drivers to exercise caution on I-90 and nearby roads, particularly in low-lying areas and near bodies of water where visibility is significantly reduced.

According to the National Weather Service, the fog is expected to dissipate by mid-morning, but those commuting early should use low-beam headlights and reduce speed. The fog is impacting visibility, which could lead to traffic slowdowns or potential accidents. The service advises motorists to delay travel, if possible, until conditions improve.

The fog is expected to lift later in the morning as the sun breaks through, with high temperatures reaching 74°F in Albany by this afternoon. Tonight, the region will experience patchy fog again, along with cooler temperatures dropping to 52°F.

Looking ahead to Friday, the forecast predicts partly sunny skies with a high near 75°F and a light south wind. Over the weekend, Saturday will be clear and sunny, with highs around 72°F. However, rain showers could return by Sunday evening, bringing a 70% chance of precipitation. Drivers should remain cautious, especially during Sunday night’s commute.

Next week will bring mild weather, with highs in the mid-60s and partly sunny skies on Monday and Tuesday. However, motorists should stay updated on changing conditions, as the weather can shift quickly. Stay informed through local forecasts and plan travel accordingly to avoid dangerous conditions.
