Middleburgh, NY – New York State Police are renewing efforts to solve a nearly 40-year-old cold case involving the disappearance of Erica Franolich, who went missing from Middleburgh, New York, in 1986. Franolich was 26 years old at the time and originally from Michigan.
According to the New York State Police, the case remains under active investigation by Troop G Major Crimes Unit and SP Princetown. Franolich last spoke to her family on October 13, 1986, before disappearing. After several unsuccessful attempts to reach her, relatives living out of state reported her missing.
Authorities continue to appeal to the public for any information that could help locate Franolich or clarify what happened to her. Investigators describe the case as a top priority, emphasizing that even small details could help bring closure after nearly four decades.
