East Fishkill, NY – A traffic stop conducted by New York State Police in Dutchess County has led to the seizure of over a pound of cocaine and felony drug charges for a Long Island man.
According to the New York State Police, the stop took place around 2:59 p.m. on Monday when Troop K’s Community Stabilization Unit pulled over a 2024 Toyota on the Taconic State Parkway in the Town of East Fishkill. The vehicle was allegedly violating multiple sections of New York State Vehicle and Traffic Law.
Police identified the driver and sole occupant as Clinton P. Moody, 46, of Hempstead, NY. During the stop, State Police K-9 Vinn conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle, which allegedly indicated the presence of narcotics. A subsequent probable cause search uncovered approximately 566 grams of cocaine, according to police.
Moody was arrested and charged with Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the First Degree (Class A-1 felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree with Intent to Sell (Class B felony), and multiple alleged traffic violations.
He was arraigned in Stanford Town Court and remanded to Dutchess County Jail. Authorities say Moody is scheduled to appear again in the Town of East Fishkill Court on Thursday, August 8, 2025, at 5:00 p.m.
The investigation is ongoing. No additional arrests have been announced at this time.
