New York, NY – New Yorkers should brace for rising temperatures and persistent sun as a stretch of summer heat takes hold through midweek, with Monday marking the warmest day so far this week.

According to the National Weather Service, high pressure is keeping skies mostly clear and winds calm, allowing daytime highs to gradually climb. Monday’s temperature is expected to reach 85°F, with only light breezes and little cloud cover. By Tuesday and Wednesday, highs will hover in the low 80s with continued sunshine and limited relief overnight as lows stick near the low 70s.

Humidity remains manageable early in the week but may rise slightly by Tuesday, making conditions feel warmer, especially during midday commutes. Winds will remain light throughout, though slight shifts from northeast to southeast could influence evening comfort near the coast.

New Yorkers are advised to limit strenuous activity during peak afternoon hours and stay hydrated. UV levels will remain high each day, so sun protection is recommended even during short exposures.

The region stays dry through at least Thursday, but forecasters caution that more unsettled weather may arrive by the weekend.
